Coil Lift Equipment

Almost every coil lift application has different requirements. The following are just 3 examples of how we may be able to assist your business;

(1) Direct coil lifting which assists in the exact placement of the coil
(2) A side lift assist
(3) A slightly different alternative in continuious feed

Coil Lift Assist

Each Paper Coat Process Equipment roll weighs several tonnes minimum.

The previous roll loading operation was carried out by gantry supported manually operated crane. This arrangement was both space and time consuming, and required two men to carry out the roll loading operation.

Minimal clearance between roll and machine sides made lifting the heavy rolls a precise operation with possible damage to the product proving very expensive.

The Lift Table now makes the lifting and handling process a one man, operation and comes from the ''UK Coil Cars'' standard range of Lift Table, and is fitted with peripheral safety trip bar in addition to the galvanised steel mesh on all four sides of the platform.

Removable ''angled'' roll restraints are positioned prior to and during the loading, elevating operation. Control of the Lift Table is by the adjacent constant pressure control station.

The illustrated loading operation is repeated in reverse at the off loading end of this paper coating operation whereby the finished, coated rolls are lowered by one of our Lift Tables, and then despatched to a receiving area.

SIDE COIL LIFTER

Another lifting application is the "Side Assist Lift"

This is where the "arm" which holds the coil is lowered and the CoilCar Lifter may be moved aside to allow a new coil to be rolled or otherwise lifted into place.

The Side Assist Lift can then be moved back into place and lift the machine arm to the correct functioning height.

An alternative to this is that the Side Lift is lowered to the lowest point and the new coil is placed Over the lift by fork lift or other means. The Side Lift is then raised to support the weight of the coil roller.

In the photograph on the right, the 15,000Kg (15 Tonne) scissor lift platform shown in the photograph is designed to accept the impact loading of the heavy steel coils in the closed position, when loaded by a fork lift truck.

The lift is then raised by a lift manual control to align the core of the coil with the axis of the mandrel on the unwind machine Hydraulic cylinders then it side-shifts the coil into position on the mandrel, the lift will then retract to receive another coil

Experienced, qualified Sales Project Engineers will visit any industrial or commercial customers in any country* to discuss their requirements and applications, agree on a solution, then raise a specification and quotation for which an order can be placed.

Stack and Feed Material Handling

UK Coil Cars has a solution for almost every material handling problem you may have.

Another version from the coil car feeder is the continuous Stack & Feed. This can be a single or multiple item dispenser. The example below is for timber.

For example; Timber and board manufacturers have many situations where Auto-feed and stack systems may provide the best solution.

The adjacent application shows two scissor lift platforms working side by side to provide a continuous material flow in that lift no.1 is fully loaded and lift no.2 raises to receive the next stack, whilst the mobile powered roller table, that can be seen, travels to remove the finished load from the lift no.1 and take it onto the next operation in the process.

The process above shows a side by side operation.

Another way of doing this can be where the loading occurs on one level and then is raised or lowered to feed the machine. The flash example below gives a very basic impression of this circular motion concept.

If you have a particularly busy operation, you may wish to utilise 2 or even 3 rotating platforms to expedite your work load and maximise your staff time and your ROI (Return on investment).
